AFTER-CARE INSTRUCTIONS

CROWN

This tooth will need a permanent restoration within 4 weeks or the tooth may be compromised. Please be sure to come to your next appointment to have your crown completed.

HEALING

You can expect to experience mild to moderate discomfort for 3 to 5 days. If any abnormal swelling develops, please call our office immediately.

INSTRUCTIONS

Please do not chew any hard or sticky foods on the tooth restored. The treated tooth could be sore to chew on and may ache for up to a week.

MEDICATIONS

Please take 3 Advil or Motrin (Ibuprofen), 200mg each, every 6 hours for two to three days. This will control the inflammation and reduce swelling which causes the pain.  Please don't take this medication if you have had an adverse reaction or certain medical conditions (stomach ulcers, kidney issues, etc.).  Only take the medications that your doctor(s) have prescribed to you.

TYLENOL

You can also take two Tylenol in between the Ibuprofen, or with the Ibuprofen if the pain is not being controlled, and if you do not have any stronger medication such as the medications mentioned below. But only take the medications and follow the instructions that your doctor(s) have prescribed to you.
